Hard to watch
I heard this is very hard to watch because of the sexual dialog. Can someone please be more specific? Is it details of rape or molesting??

shareFirst of all, none of the child abuse is shown onscreen, they talk about it but it's either in an almost poetic way when it's been related by the priest, or in a very vulgar way when it's been screamed out loud by the drunk victim of abuse, in this last case the dialogue is so full of Chilean slang, that I'm curious as to how will they translate it into English. Chilean slang and argot is so idiosyncratic that spaniards or Argentinians have no idea what Chileans are saying, it's Chilean not Spanish.
Just watch the damn movie.

Nobody's saying that, so why are you getting all touchy about it? Being specific about a certain language from a certain culture/country is not being "PC", it's simply pointing out the difference, and being respectful of them. Seriously, white people throw out that bull**** term so much, I don't think they even can tell you exactly what it even means----it's just something said to shut down any discussions of race---which this wasn't even about, it was about a language--so why the hell are you even tripping about it? i thought the same thing, how will they translate this movie. Without the "Chilean slang" it's not the same, mostly with the guy who yells outside of the house.
The movie is harsh.
Right, I'm a spaniard and I couldn't make out what they were saying half the time. Good movie, though.
shareSi, siempre ha sido un gran obstáculo para la distribución internacional del cine chileno la deformación de nuestro idioma, sin duda el castellano con más jergas y argot original de todos los países hispano parlantes, por un lado a no ser que se vea con subtítulos será difícil para el espectador internacional captar los diálogos en su totalidad, y por otro lado si el cineasta opta por un español más neutral, arriesga que los diálogos suenen un tanto forzados y artificiales. Sobretodo cuando la temática aborda nuestros estratos sociales más humildes.
