the oldest daughter's father...

Asian? japanese? chinese? korean?

dont tell me the white guy in the last episode is her father.

reply

I know right? She's obviously part Asian. That white guy can't be her dad. Then again Pamela Adlon isn't her mom either. They're just acting.

But yeah, maybe her real dad is out of the picture, and he is supposed to be adopted father to the oldest, and biological father to the other two.

it's called bad casting. mikey madison is a talented and good looking young lady, but they should have casted a more caucassian looking older daughter.

I can't say you're wrong. But personally I have no problem with Mikey Madison per se. It's the acting by the cast in general I think is terrible. Mind you I've liked Pamela Adlon in other shows. She was good in Californication. (Maybe because she wasn't in a lead role.) And she was good in Lucky Louie. But so far, the acting in this show has been pretty bad by most of the cast members.

Mikey Madison isn't bad though. That is, if her goal is to be an insufferable teen, she is doing a good job of that.

Did you watch Louie?

Louie CK is a producer on this show and a creative force behind it.

If you watched that show, you would know the ethnicity/race of an actor or actress meant nothing to him. If he felt they were good at acting, they got the job, period.

This is the same guy who changed who played his ex-wife in his show from a white woman to a black woman, no questions asked. And his daughters on the show were white.

So it's not bad casting. That's just how Louie prefers it.

reply

Ironically, Louie addresses that incongruence: Pam notices his ex wife is black and wonder how they got "those translucid daughters" lol. I think he said something about her heritage being also white, but it died there with no further development.

It is PC casting to appease the SJW's .. ethnic casting to make a show more realistic is not racism as much as the SJW's would like us to believe that it is ..

This is Louie CK's trademark. In his own series his very blond daughters have an African-American mother. They have never addressed it. He is just doing the same thing here - mixing a bunch of ethnicities together in one family without given the audience a real-life explanation.

Nope, it's called eastern european. And, surprise! - her father's character has an eastern european father. Were you raised in a freaking barn?
