What if they cast big name celebs??? Would've been cool to see Beyoncé play Cha Cha and Bruno Mars as one of the t birds with the guitar. And Taylor swift would've fit right in as one of the pink ladies perhaps Frenchie. And Jt as the nerdy kid. Idk just thought it would be cool. Don't know who could be Danny or Sandy???

Actually, Christopher Walken dropped out of college after one year, having gotten the role of Clayton Dutch Miller in an Off-Broadway revival of musical Best Foot Forward, co-starring with Liza Minnelli, who played Ethel Hofflinger. Walken initially trained as a dancer in music theatre at the Washington Dance Studio, before moving on to dramatic roles in theatre and then film. He hasn't done stage work in a LONG time but he has broken out minor or major dance moves in a serious number of movies. But let's face it, he's in his 70's now.
Also, he did do the film version of Hairspray playing Edna'a (John Travolta) singing and dancing husband, Wilbur in 2007.
I consider him more a dancer than a singer. But movie legends Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly were better dancers than singers.

I'm not questioning his talent, but he was terribly miscast and fell flat. Out of all the live events that have happened in the last few years, Peter Pan was the least favorite of my children. You would think it would be the favorite.
I'm pointing out that casting big stars for the sake of them being big stars doesn't always work.
