Best and worst parts?

Any thoughts?

reply

Those magic changes song was probably my favorite part, i like what they did with it.
I also liked how they expanded the role for a bunch of secondary characters like Eugene.

I did not like Joe Jonas as the band leader at the dance.

reply

I thought Mario Lopez was miscast, but besides that, I liked it.

reply

Like Jack Nicholson and Andy Dick, you only hire Mario Lopez to be...."supermario". That's the only thing he can do...smarmy and sociopathic. A perfect tv host.

Greased lightning and beauty school drop out. Best

reply

Ugh. Beauty School Dropout was atrocious. I like B2M, but not in this. Raw, unadulterated stunt casting that ruined the number.

Greased lightning had great energy - not sure how I feel about the new choreography, though.

The obvious overcasting of blacks and Hispanics. Sorry, but the 1950s wasn't as PC as we are today.

Well, it's a Broadway-style musical -- not a docudrama about life in the 1950s.

reply

True, I think the level of IT back then wasn't that prevalent.

Best parts : Rizzo in shorts .. Sandy in tights ..

reply

When u grew up with the original movie, played the sound track on your record player until the needle was a nub, and knew every song lyric and dance move by heart, any rendition afterward just pales in comparison.

reply

This was done after the stage musical. Not the movie.

reply

Not exactly true. Hopelessly Devoted to You was a movie creation and it was in this. It was a mixture, but it probably was more like the film than the stage musical. Because the stage musical was supposed to a lot raunchier. And they toned it down for the film and this.

reply

Based mainly on the move, with bits from the stage play thrown in. Hopelessly Devoted and Sandy (Stranded at the Drive In) were both composed for the film.

reply

I've seen it performed in the musical version, probably because audiences expected it after the movie came out.

reply

Greased Lightning was great, Hudgens's Worse Things was awesome and the end carnival scene was well done.

Worse was Mario Lopez

Wet suit plus harness is very package-y

I have seen the stage production and the film (many MANY times) I never thought I would hear anything that even came close to Stockard Channing singing Worse Things I Could Do ... But WOW!! Vanessa just blew me away!!

You could tell she REALLY studied Stockard Channing as Rizzo and her hard work paid off!! She was the shining star in my opinion!!

reply

Worse- Keke's overacting and Carly's bad singing.

Best- Greased Lightin'

reply

There Are Worse Things I Could Do was without a doubt the very best thing of the night. She was amazing. She kind of brought me to tears with her utter authenticity.

Aaron Tzveit. Fantastic.

Blanche was awesome.

I honestly thought the dance was a mess, cuz they left out so much context that for new viewers it was just a cluster of confusion.

reply

Stockard Channing's rendition in the move was better and it will bring you to tears.

reply

Blanche was so funny, i could not stop laughing.
