Academics and Makeup the cliche

It is really tiring to see how films would keep on portraying a serious academician as someone who does not care about makeup at all. Well may be their jobs does not require them to put on makeup but that does not mean that they don't like makeup. Plus there is a huge difference between heavy makeup, conventional makeup and touch ups according to one's own will. Most of my friends are serious academicians and they all have their makeup kits. They do not always spend considerable time, money or energy into it but does not mean that they have never used a liner, mascara, or nail-polish at times. Research and makeup, they are not mutually exclusive, everyone has their own style and they make their fashion statement accordingly, even the academicians.

It's high time Hollywood realizes these and steps out of such cliches.
