Did this happen to anyone else?

I had forgotten almost everything about the 1st movie's plot. I don't know if its plot was forgettable or it was just plain bad that I subconsciously wanted to forget it. Either way, that made me enjoy this prequel much more, because I didn't know what would happen. I remembered seeing Lin Shaye in the 1st movie, but I didn't remember her name. So, until the post-credits scene, I didn't know that LINA was her when she was younger.

Thankfully I also totally forgot "Ouija" and it didn't inform the ending like it would've had I remembered the first, inferior flick.

I forgot all about the "Hi friend" reference in the first film and I just watched it yesterday. There was just nothing about the film to make it memorable. It wasn't good or bad. Just average and cliched. The worst thing a film can be is just plain. I don't remember the films that are in the middle of the road. They slip out of my mind. I only remember the ones that were either really good or really bad.

Ditto.

So what???
Both films are CRAP, period!!!

No, I liked the sequel. So did a lot of people.

"Billions of flies eat $h1t every day! Does that make it good?"
(Michael Keaton in "Birdman").

Honestly can't remember a thing about the first one, except the hospital visits and the girl dying by a string of Christmas lights.

I watch both almost back to back so I did not have this problem.
