Guess nobody 'noticed' anything ..

Track marks, vomiting, sweating, passing out behind the wheel, shaking, irritability...

...nah, just a 24 hour bug.

Per the genre (glorified After School Special After Dark), naturally all parents are useless, clueless and don't understand. I have yet to see a teen cautionary film where the parents weren't complete, disconnected dullards.

But they noticed their son was smoking weed and found his stash

reply

I think they simply found the stash. Probably wasn't as diligent about hiding it.
Also, everyone tends to forget that parents don't want to think that their kids are doing things like this, so they justify things to themselves.

reply

Please, I am a parent----and a pretty permissive one and that and no, you still keep track of your kid and monitor them. Because it's your job as a parent. You also educate and discuss these things with your child, because that's part of your job as a parent, as well.

But you absolutely look for and notice if things are wrong, because how else will you be able to help?

reply

That's what I say if they could tell there some was smoking ppt they should've also told that their daughter was on drugs just by looking at her and the continuing problems she has just go into her room and see if might or might not have being doing drugs obviously she wasn't hiding it very well cause the lil bro found it with ease and the parents did find his weed I'm sure it was harder to find though

reply

Especially something as obvious as opiate addiction----and knowing she had recently injured herself and been taking painkillers. As a parent, even with a legitimate reason for their use, I'd be watching my kid and talking to them, simply because the possibility is well established and existed for awhile.

I'd be even more suspicious that right after this injury, etc....my child has a new set of friends and slipped and fell like that. Seriously, there were no shortage of textbook, again, After School Special tip offs, there. And Bella wasn't an especially credible liar.

reply

Ur right wouldn't be asking why is ur daughter around kids that look like drug addicts I'm sure she would lie about them and she comes home late looking awful and at school she gets calls that she's passed out sick and she says eating disorder and that wasn't even coming from her mouth because she was way too wasted to come up with a fib that she used her moms reasoning and still even if she did have an eating disorder they have pills maybe check around her room like I said before all the signs were there but they were obviously too stupid And blind to notice

reply

Oh and her progressive lack of grooming standards, etc. To say nothing of, the school noticed how far down the rabbit hole she was heading, but didn't contact her parents? I get calls from my daughter's school when she's smart assed to a teacher or missing an assignment, and she's also in high school. Because that's how schools work and they would definitely be looking for such things.

reply

Let's not forget that she was lying, but making it seem as though she was telling the truth (I drank beer, the pills from the doctor make me drowsy, etc). Her mom came up with the idea that because she was sick in the bathroom during dinner that she must naturally have an eating disorder. She went with that notion and just like so many doctors do, he medicated her! Thus, feeding right into her addiction.

As for the brother and his weed... He most likely left it in his pocket.

But, I think ultimately this movie wanted to highlight just how easy it is for kids to become addicted to drugs and how easy it is for kids to find out who supplied the drugs.

reply

Ur missing the point all these problems kept continuing money was missing, their daughter was still looking bad and etc

reply

Her parents were on that sh!t, too. She's so addicted she refuses to do sexual things to get high.

Clark's destiny = Superman, LL &LL.
