Clueless parents

I get that everyone is talking about the parents, but the mom finally did recognize something was wrong-just guessed the wrong problem. And if her grades weren't slipping and she was still on the dance team, I feel like they didn't have much to suspect-espcially with them focusing on the son so much; deeming that he had all the problems.

Anyways, I think it was weird that her friend didn't confront her, or the dance coach didn't apporach her sooner. They practiced so much the coach could obviously see something was different. At least talk to her, and then inform the parents of her suspicions (way sooner than she did). And I feel like her friend had to suspect something was off, epecially when she started hanging out with the new "crowd".

I don't know, maybe that's just me.

Yeah that always seemed to bug me as well

The story just seemed to be about this stupid, stupid girl and her stupid parents. Not well done at all.

I agree with that. I'm a parent of a similarly aged girl----her large, urban high school calls parents about EVERYTHING. Teachers and administrators are trained to look for these things and this was something really overt. I find it very difficult to believe that her dance coach in particular wouldn't have contacted her parents well before that.

Actually, what would've been much more interesting (and believable) would've been her getting addicted to steroids so she could keep dancing

I have known plenty of parents like this.
Just easier for them to bury their heads in the sand. But that always blows up on them.
These are exactly the kinda parents that will say, "My child would never...." Famous Last Words!!

Except you're also ignoring my comments on how schools tend to be much more involved in such things and honestly, all the parents I know, if anything, are even looking for problems with their kids. Not saying it doesn't happen, just saying, sorry, most parents just aren't that stupid.

To say nothing of, most people who use pain killer for prescribed, medical reasons don't get hooked (or even close to it), even among those who build up a tolerance or who abuse them, don't move on to heroin addiction (or even full blown opiate addiction)

She should've known something was up one second she looks crazy next she looks passed out next she's hanging around the drug addicts

clueless parents seems to be goal one in lifetime teen movies lately.

and I totally agree with you. all of them were clueless. they are all acting like they are freaking Julliard and they are in freaking hs!!! doing cheerleading???

the fact that they okayed her to continue to 'dance' is just mind baffling.

but that sharing is caring friend is totally suable in this.

Reading the paper can really be depressing. Mr. Dithers fired Dagwood again.

That's what I mean when she got off scotfree for her actions
