I believe the kid admitted to fabricating the story. BUT there are other wonderful stories of folks who have died, experienced the afterlife, and returned to this life. I know of 2 written by doctors and, of course, Don Piper's 90 Minutes in Heaven.
not sur eif you saw it, but a primary plot point was a cranky old woman who wanted the dad (a pastor) to loose his job because "we don't want our church to turn in to a joke!"
really?!
atheists please back me up-- the whole point of church is to promote the idea that there is an after life, right?! (even if it's not scientifically provable.)
The fact that this old woman was saying it was "like a circus side show" to promote the idea that a little boy saw heaven- it pisses me off. that was NOT a part of the book.
I love the book and i want to see '90 minutes in heaven' (i may have to wait because the closest place showing it is 50 miles away.) the book is a strong message that this man was brought back from heaven, to a recovery of pure h-ll. (they had to break the bones in his leg to regrow the bone material he lost.)
I would never take testimony from someone regarding their experience while near death. You are near death! Low blood, low oxygen and experiencing symptoms of being in shock. Very prone to hallucinations! A light at the end of a tunnel you say? What do people experience when they are about to pass out? Tunnel vision!
