I recorded this to watch because I find the subject matter interesting. Some of the scenes seem staged. I also noticed that they never have any type of police force or professionals that work with people who are brainwashed. It's three girls who are trying to remove people from the cult they were born into. The show would have more validity if they had professions on the show involved in the removal of these brainwashed women.

I've been a member for 25 years and have yet to see an individual have to ESCAPE. We pride ourselves with free agency, if someone doesn't want to be here, they are more than welcome to leave.

Actually, the drug addicted kid was referred to a counselor. They have a great support system in each other. Even with professional support, its hard to overcome a lifetime of brainwashing.
As for the police, they often will not get involved. They are either part of it or they are bribed or they support it. That's why it continues even though they know all about it.
I would like to see child protective services involved. Especially with that woman living in a mold infested house who refused to leave because the new clean home wasn't big enough. It is a health hazard.

I just saw the one where they call the health department. I don't get why they didn't do anything and why they didn't call cps. I would thing they have to by law.

In one episode there were definitely children at the mold infested house because the two daughters that got out were trying to talk to their brothers and sisters and let them know if they ever want/need to get out that they are there for them. There have been young children that commit suicide in these cults and they don't want their siblings to feel that desperate and think they have no help. I have watched a TON of shows/documentaries/specials and read tons of books on this very topic. I think what you are seeing is pretty typical. They don't have a lot of counsellors to help. They have a support system within the others that have got out because it takes the people that leave awhile to adjust to the outside world and people that weren't raised in the orders. They are taught that outsiders are evil. It takes them awhile to see that there are good people on the outside. I think the biggest part of why people don't get it, is because the majority of the people escaping are from the Kingston group not Warren Jeff's group. Most of what people have been shown in documentaries etc. is about Warren Jeff's cult not the Kingston's. The Kingstin cult, while bad, is still not as hardcore as Warren's cult. Warren's cult has the God Squad that follow you around if they catch you on the property. The only reason that didn't happen on the one escape they did from that cult ( because there has only been one episode about someone escaping Jeff's cult) was because they planned it well where
Sorry I got cut off but they planned it well so the God Squad didn't have time to know they were there. If they had of saw them then you best bet they would of never been able to leave with the girl they went to get. However, the majority of the escapes have been from the Kingston group, which they used to be a part of. They grew up in that cult so they know how it works. I think if you read up on the Kingston cult you would see that, while some things are similar to Jeff's cult, they are not a carbon copy. I think people are so used to seeing things from Jeff's cult that they assume because things are different in the Kingston cult that it must mean it's fake, but that's just not accurate. I think it's very credible!

Watch for them, if kids live there then once in a great while there would be one at home, but no one is ever there but the mom...

Oh this last episode of the mom escaping, where they wereoading up the trucks, then all of a sudden you hear a scream, and someone says, the order is watching us.
There was another show a few years back that seemed more like reality than scripted. And the order didn't just watch from afar, they actually drove up asking what are you doing on our property. So I can guarantee you that this show is scripted and fake
There have been episodes where the police were called, DID come and DID help. As the other poster said - many of the police are part of this or paid off. Seems like the girl that wound up meeting her much older sister who had left after being beaten and totally took on a new life (Mary Ann maybe?) was one where the police came. She had a couple of guy friends and the girls from the series help. When the police came they asked WHICH order making it obvious they know the situation at hand.
shareI think this is willful ignorance on your part, the women ARE professionals. They all mention their social work degrees multiple times, and personal experience is highly valued in social work. Especially domestic violence, which is a huge part of the issues addressed here. These women are literally working as social workers, they are the professionals. As another user said they also advocate and refer the people to other professionals, another part of social work.
sharewhat kind of professionals? Mental health pros won't be involved with removal. they could be involved after the fact, however I'm sure they have been brainwashed to discount mental health care.
