loved it but have a few questions

1. the main villain I forget his name(batman's old college friend) who says that he purposely manipulated things so that batman would become infected and become a vampire so that tina wouldn't love him or he would die something along those lines. he didn't want batman and tina to be together because he wanted tina but my problem with this is that batman had cancer and would probably have died if it wasn't for the vampire serum so why bother.

2. how did darkseid die so easily is the regular darkseid capable of being killed so easily in the same way with highfathers staff weapong

reply

1- Will Magnus took the opportunity and Langstrom despair for a cure, to make him took the serum, i doubt Magnus knew what would really happen after it. He used Langstrom as a test subject. And yeah, Magnus killed Tina because of her always talking about Langstrom and the need of helping him, and Magnus couldn´t care less.

2- The Highfather is very powerful and according to Dc wiki, he was a great warrior in his youth. Could Darkseid being easily killed like that?
I have no idea if the Highfather staff has some kind of power or not. But i guess in matter of powers, the Highfather might be more powerful, i mean, he rules the gods with a iron fist, his word is absolute, he is one of the most intelligent beings of the universe, etc..

1. He was probably afraid that Kirk might come up with a legitimate cure if he didn't intervene in some way. I doubt he thought Kirk would become what he did, he just wanted to ensure that Kirk wouldn't get cured and be ok.

2. This has come up a few times, and I think it largely has to do with people knowing Darkseid better than High Father. Catching Darkseid off guard and hitting him at point blank range like that, yeah I bought it.

1. I may be in the minority here, but I felt that Magnus was legitimately trying to help Langstrom find a cure for his cancer. He knew then that Tina loved Kirk, but I believe at that point he felt that he had still "won out." It wasn't until after they were finally married and Tina still showed signed of truly loving Kirk that made Magnus' insecurity turn into insane jealousy. Remember that he said that he snapped in that moment. It was his complete break with reality after accidentally killing Tina that he came up with his plan to turn all humanity into mindless drones. I think that after they married and Tina still carried on about Kirk even after he became the pseudo-vampire (hello Morbius, lol) is when Magnus legitimately stopped trying to help Kirk with a cure. I didn't get the impression that he had consciously given himself over to his jealousy prior to his marriage and that moment of insane rage in particular.

2. Darkseid died so easily due to the fact that it was Highfather, a being who is every bit his equal, attacking him with lethal intent by surprise with his defenses down. Most importantly however, it was done for expediency. They couldn't very well spend too much time on the flashback without breaking the narrative pace of the story. It was only necessary to show us, the audience, that Apokolips was betrayed and the royal house/forces were decimated rather swiftly by the ruthless surprise attack.

I wonder whether or not Orion actually lived after the brutal and savage attack. Bekka seemed to stop Highfather in time before Orion's head exploded. Perhaps upon the return of Bekka and Luthor, we would see that Orion survived the ordeal. Perhaps in some diminished capacity or coma or something.

Did anyone else notice that Luthor, who was surprisingly very likable and empathetic in this film, had essentially become Metron by the end?

I find myself endlessly intrigued by this alternate universe and would love to see more. This was a great film and I really, really liked this incarnation of the Jusyice League. They were just familiar enough for us to feel the connection with their more popular Earth One counterparts, but different enough to feel like a completely fresh and innovative take on the characters and the DCU in general.

i'm a noob so you don't have to listen or agree with me but..

1. i don't think he was trying to kill his best friend, there was no proof of that watching the movie of magnus trying to kill langstrom, so the conclusion i came up with the cure WAS legitimate. If you want to kill someone there's easier ways then faking some kind of cure.

You're blinded by the fact magnus noticed tina had some kind of feelings towards batman so you automatically think he wanted bats dead, there's no proof of that

2. yes i was surprised of darkseid getting his ass handed to him in this, but then no one follows continuity do they? captain marvel (shazam) use to be OP that he originally had no weaknesses unlike superman. NOW? superman kills him in the injustice video game with a simple blast of heat vision to the face AND in the Injustice aquaman movie his tiny lightning pee shooters didn't hurt the villian at all. I watched the 'injustice throne of atlantis' before this and it showed aquaman was immune to blades (well mortal ones that is) when some dude try to stab him in some bar fight

i've never heard about crap like that before, since when is aquaman that powerful? super strength but took a blade to the chest and is ok? i mean darkseid in that universe (series) was pretty much god where the WHOLE justice league was no match for him and the best they could do is send him back to darkseids home planet

Yes, Aquaman is bulletproof and knifeproof. He can survive pressures that would crush submarines.

"Need" is just a fiction. As is "should", "must", "value" and "importance".

1. I dont remember that he intentionally tried to turn him into a vampire. Also, he wasnt a vampire.

2. Highfather is a very powerful being just like Darkseid, maybe even more so. Given his power and prep time I dont see why he would not be able to take out Darkseid.

reply

There were weirder vampires than Kirk and someone in the movie said he is.
