Dumb things done by herione

I wanted to like this more (and despite my complaints, I liked it quite a lot), but the writing for our heroine kinda pissed me off with 3 dumb actions: 1) not shooting at Serano either time that he reloaded his shotgun in the cemetery; 2) freezing up because of the wolf in the cemetery (I might give her this one...maybe); 3) the whole time she and "Laura" were trying to get away from Damien, the only time she took out her cell phone was *to use it as a flashlight!* (which could have been fixed with a brief scene of her attempting to call for help and not getting a signal).

I think her wearing the lipstick was to see if either her boyfriend or his paramour would react. Was her boyfriend the kid's father...I'm leaning towards "yes", but.... The only car at the beach during her and Laura's escape scene was the one driven by the bad guys' (she walked there from town).

I agree about the purpose of using the lipstick. Even when asked her boyfriend didn't seem to notice it, Paul on the other hand saw it instantly.
I think the kid is hers. When the couple argue about her leaving her job, she said something like:"if I don't, will you find another woman and take MY child?".
Her reaction to the affair was slow. I would have expected her to confront him after seeing them together or even after reading the message on his phone.

She acted like a complete idiot during the beach shoot-out, as well. It was lazy writing, repeatedly trying to build tension by having the protagonist act stupid and illogically rather than professionally.

Thought she would have had another clip for her gun as well, even Damien had a spare!!

The beach sequence was an example of lazy writing. The suspect dropped the Walther and was a beaten man. Sandra should have followed up and taken him into custody. Even if she just proned him out (very risky trying to cuff a dangerous suspect by one-self) at gunpoint, took possession of the pistol and then called for help on her cell phone.By grabbing the girl and running it could be argued that she killed the girl. If she had done the other option the girl might have gotten medical help in time and lived. Also the lack of a reload was a very weak plot device. As a uniformed officer I carry two additional magazines and I know officers who carry three and four. I also carry a small five shot revolver on my person. Back during my detective days I always had a second magazine on my belt as well. I bet most CID detectives in France also carry an additional magzine in the real world. The rest of the series was actually pretty good. I don't take any issue with her not shooting the first suspect when he was reloading. Gunfights are confusing things - especially when you're in one. The wolf.......well I probably would have been rather immobile as well.No fast movement. Good series, but the beach sequence wasn't all that great. If there is a second series I'll give it a try though.

Why didn't she just use her phone when she was on the beach??! She used it as a torch in the container but didn't think to phone anyone much earlier...

I agree with all what you wrote, I was very disappointed by this beach part. Running away with a girl that is badly bleeding was also the last thing to do. You can indeed consider that her stupidity killed the girl. Just waiting for the police to arrive was the only good option. I found her character irritating several times during the series, doing things that are illegal, unprofessional, and that a real police officer would never do.

I'm in the middle of watching the episode right after the cemetery shootout and the first thing I did was stop it and come here to see if anyone else commented on the Sandra not realizing there was time after he first both shots to line him up in her sights and take him out.

As far as the beach scene goes...her choices just made no sense at all.
