Entry or exit wound

Why couldn't the authorities tell the difference between an entry or exit wound?

I thought the same thing. Also, Tessier simply decided the window was broken first, and so she must have turned around... but it is relatively easy to piece together glass to determine how and where it was broken... they would have seen it was the bullet which broke it.

So like you say, either they should have known that she was shot in the back from the wound, in the first place; or if not, they would have seen from the glass breakage the bullet did it.

And let's say we accept all of that is not possible... the very fact she was shot in the chest, from either side, immediately implies she was not involved in any way.. what exactly was the cop's suspicion, then, if not involved? That she knew her husband's killer and daughter's abductor, but just didn't feel like sharing?

This show is full of inept scripting and poor continuity like this. A real train wreck.
