Sorry, folks, but I have to . . .

. . . disagree.

The show has Josh Gates' style of spontaneous humor and potentially interesting subjects.

But I find it just plain boring.

Sorry.

To each his own. I find it mildly interesting. He explores things & places I already have information on. Guess I watch it because my wife does, & I like Josh's Levity about life. But the 'Staging' bothers me, plus I don't really learn anything new.

I agree. I enjoy the background history , but the staging is insulting ...yeah he really does go into 4 mile deep cave- no I don't think so. Every so called dangerous thing he does is fake- all set up and tested by others for safety.

You're right. It IS boring. It's much more tame than his old show, which was a lot of fun. And his wit/charm isn't up to par either. He needs people to play off of, I think. I gave it a "5".

I was actually a big DT fan. Because it was entertaining to see them run around trying to chase ghost and goblins etc... This show has the same feel to it, but with more of a history / travel channel vibe. Being more into history and realistic things, I actually really like Expedition Unknown. Sure I miss the hokey 'look over there' and the creepy vibe of DT, but I really like this show.

I was excited when I first heard about this show. I like Josh Gates but I *beep* hated Destination Truth and all that paranormal bull *beep* I'm a history buff myself and the lineup of subjects sounded cool but even that was as you said, boring.

What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.

I can't disagree with you. I watched the first episode, and couldn't wait for it to end.

The host is like and MTV VJ of an archeologist: lots of fluff, very little substance.

I can see the current crop of kids in their twenties liking it, as it's a mindless push into mild archeology: not too boring with things like real knowledge, and then they can say some big words, like they really know something.

But for an old fart who grew up on National Geographic specials, this is just banal tripe.
