Breathtaking.

There was an absolutely terrible beauty to behold here, shatteringly awful and enrapturing to witness. I can't stop weeping. Truly an incredible performance that transports you back in time in a heartbeat. Not to be missed, and beyond compare.

Agreed, tekntonk - I hope Audra has enough room on her mantle for the Emmy and SAG award she'll surely receive.

It was pathetic.

Audra McDonald is absolutely stellar. I finally started crying----Billie Holiday's life, and the particular slice of it portrayed here, near her very end, is gut-wrenching-----beyond heartbreaking.

Kudos to Audra McDonald. She was brilliant.

I came in just after it started, and wound up in tears several times. Sometimes from watching her be such a tragic mess, and especially during the song "Strange Fruit." But it was definitely hard to watch. I know Billie had a really tough life, and that this was an actress portraying her, but she (Audra) did a phenomenal job and I forgot I was watching an actor portrayal. She (Audra) definitely was Billie.

Such a shame there's a troll on the board trying to derail this performance.
