The Gun...

What was Robert implying when he handed Julian the gun? Was he telling Julian to kill himself, to kill someone else, or was it just a tactic to scare him? I really didn't understand that scene.

Can anyone explain it to me?

reply

I was actually wondering about that myself. I assume the implication was Julian should kill himself, but I wasn't positive, because it seemed a strange thing (at least to me) for a newly religious man to be telling someone to kill himself, especially right before telling Julian he forgives him.

Pretty sure it's a fake gun.

i thought a good end would have been where Robert walks into the Frances art place and Julian freaks out and shoots him dead. Then Frances realizes what she's done. Destroyed her family and killed off her husband. She was already killing him figuratively thru the affair but now she did it physically.

That would have been a better ending.

reply

That might have been a better ending if this was a movie and a drama, but it's a running TV series and a comedy, so no, that would not be a better ending.

reply

I think that was supposed to just be a goofball comedy scene that was not to be taken seriously.
