I haven't seen the last episode yet, but in episode 9 when Robert's lawyer's questioning led to the revelation that Robert is a lot more involved in the kids' lives, she should have stressed right then and there that she has been the primary breadwinner the entire time, and if anything, Robert has been beyond irresponsible with the family finances.

I mean, I don't think it was even possible for her to look bad in that situation considering the actual circumstances - she made it so with her [kinda ridiculous, IMO] need to justify her actions.

Her subsequent "involvement" with the school was downright embarrassing - she really shouldn't have bothered.

A mother that doesn't prioritize her kids has a pretty poor case in most aspects of life.
