CGI (Spoilers)

Really really enjoyed this film and was on the verge of giving this an 8 out of 10 but gave it a 7 instead because of the CGI monster.

The low budget CGI revelation was terrible. There was no need for that. I think if they had done something in a subtle manner...I dunno, maybe not reveal the alien/monster completely but hint at it? It kinda feels as though this end scene doesn't belong in a such a slow burn/paced sorta film.

But still a good film!

It didn't look too out of place. I've seen worse CGI in bigger budget movies. I agree though , movie was quite good.

To be honest, I thought that was a puppet/animatronic. When he asked John to look after Kay, the mouth moved like a puppet would. I would say that they added a layer of cgi goo over him, but I don't think it was entirely cgi.

It definitely took me out of the movie and felt cheesy and out of place. Subtle would've been better.

I felt his CGI hand kills were just as bad.. Totally ruined the film for me.. But It's a mess of a film anyways.. Better than half of today's mainstream horrors, but still convoluted.

The monster was not CGI. It was a puppet - all practical.

reply

oh sheesh y'all, twas a puppet

I don't care if it was a puppet or cgi. It looked stupid. I agree that something more subtle would have been better. And it felt totally out of place.
