To the source material. The changes were unnecessary and kind of ruined the movie for me. Also, man was this slow and some of the acting very forced.

shareI just finished reading the book, and I would agree, even if I liked how it turned out. In the books, Crowley hated killing people, and even cried before killing the cops and expressed genuine emotion about what he had to do. And it showed how messed up John was, while in the film, he seems comparatively more sympathetic while Crowley seems less so.
