Disney has two maybe three films likely to get nominated and this could split the votes so much Kubo comes out ahead. Unlikely but possible.
And for my money in terms of animation as art Kubo's was the most unique and exciting. The Disney films looked like Disney films. Especially Moana.
I hope it does and I liked Zootopia and Moana.
shareWhere do people keep getting this information? I've yet to find any proof this has ever happened. I do however remember reading an article that Academy Voters already have their mind made up by the time they atcually vote and generally vote straight ticket without even discussing the other films. If I'm not mistaken this was written about Frozen. Also do remember that the finial vote is by the whole Academy not just the animated branch. It's very unlikely they would vote for a film they don't know much about and even more so that a split vote however unlikely would benefit another film unless the margin was huge!
