I kept counting three strings and when there were two late in the film I did not understand their significance. Perhaps because I was nodding off. Overall a sleeper movie. Glad I waited for the free DVD from my library.

In the end it was the united trinity of his family that saved the day: Kubo and his Mother and his Father.... or if you like; Kubo and the Two strings.
