Lesson 1. If your partner is violent, get out. Really. Get out.

Lesson 2. If you have helped your best friend cover up a murder, don't blackmail him.

Lesson 3. If your neighbour is wanted for murder, avoid being alone with him.

Some would say that conscience is an innate sense of what is right and by fighting it you are always going to be doing wrong. The superego is more like an internalized version of your parents, a nagging machine in your brain, and if it's based on your parents then it obviously isn't going to be correct all of the time.

and some people talk out loud, especially some as they get older.

I don't know about that. There was an episode of The Mentalist where a female murderer passed herself off as a cancer patient by shaving herself bald. Jane saw right through her guise because she was too vain to shave her eyebrows along with her scalp.

That was said by the defense lawyer in the Galveston trial when Durst was found not guilty of murdering Morris Black. The jurors there must feel pretty bad about Durst later murdering Susan Berman after they freed him. Even he appeared in shock that he got away that one.

I guess I missed the part where he was convicted of Berman's murder. And what does Berman have to do with Black?

I think he was actually on trial for Black's murder after Ms Berman's murder.
