Worth the watch

Sorry, but I digress. This was well done. There are a lot of found-footage films out there with a similar premise (a young group with cameras penetrating some abandoned asylum, etc.) and this film got it right. It is VERY creepy. I don't expect special effect fireworks with this genre. Many times it's more about subtlety and atmosphere - that really gets under your skin. The only thing that was a little trying for me was the girl's constant crying towards the last section of the film - but we got that too from the chick in BLAIR WITCH (whom this film pays a couple nods to). Anyway, to each his own.

Btw, ARCHIVO 253 is currently streaming on NETFLIX. And so is LOS INOCENTES, an hour long, fun terror feature that also gets right the same old-slasher formula. The English title for this one on Netflix is Bloody April Fools.
Worth a watch.
