He has the worlds greatest agent.

I swear to god, I'd never said a documentary on a footballer would ever wind me up. This did.

He was magnificent during Italia 90, that's uncontested. But a documentary about his life this is not. Its completely slanted, and I would suspect that the only way the director got him to talk on film was to agree that the drinking and the way he treated his family was not touched upon. The talking heads were Mourinho, Rooney and Lineker. One never came into direct contact with him, one was an impressionable 15 year old and one would sing the praises of a deckchair if there was a camera nearby. No talking head from Garry Parker, anyone at Rangers, his wife, the people who tried to help him and he ignored, no?

The director interspersed a two hour interview with footage you could find on YouTube and three dull interviewees. Im not rating this because he could hit a ball like few others I ever saw and the free kick against Arsenal was a peach. But this was a golden opportunity to find out something interesting about him and the director either bottled it, pocketed it or blew it. Watch for the goals, avoid for the sycophantic nonsense in between.

Man, I've got vision and the rest of the World wears bi focals
