about the plot / The book April is reading / possible spoilers

Is that actually a book?, the one April (Magda Apanowicz) is seen reading, I believe it's by June Miller called Wild beaches. I know Orly the stepdad gave April the book. Because the movie kept showing the book I thought it was connected with the plot but not sure how exactly, I guess June Miller is an alias That lost me. More questions then answers. What was Orly's real motive? Why couldn't April remember? and What did Panache have to do with anything? where's the connection?
