Be aware NO is the crookedest city in the US!

From the beat cop on up, New Orleans is crooked, so be aware. It made the top 10 list of cities that people most wanted to flee.

Do you live in New Orleans?

Hey, it can't be any worse than Chicago. we're called the Windy City because the politicians are all full of hot air. Also 50% of the police force is white even though only 1/3 of the city is, so there's a lot of racial tension with the cops.

Ahhh, Jim. SMH. Is NOLA crooked? Yes. Is every cop crooked? No. And if it is the city most want to flee, why did SO many people struggle to get back in the years following Katrina. Quite the opposite is true. While some areas of the country see so many natives leave, there is something different about NOLA that makes it almost impossible to leave.

I know that the regulars on the show were around during Katrina, and heard them out on their experiences. They kept saying how the entire city came together and so did the first responders. It was a tragedy no doubt, but I can remember their mayor (the one who took all the millions and millions in funds to build up the levy system and never made any improvements PRE Katrina) and others on the news in the days and weeks after. They were talking about how half the police force abandoned the city and didn't come back. They were asking people to stop shooting the rescue helicopters. One Marine featured in a documentary, who basically rescued his entire apartment building (and the thugs who tried to loot it but got trapped when the water got higher) saying he heard more gun fire in the days after then he heard at any time in his combat tours in Iraq... In the aftermath 100's of NOPD officers were put in jail. It was not a big city population wise. With many never returning it is even less populated. I enjoy the show, and with my career depicted on it I respect the main subjects shown, but I wish they would honestly say the truth of how many of their own second (work) families bailed on them or were arrested. Many documentaries show that much of the city was not rebuilt, and many citizens committed severe crimes (not talking about looting food which was necessary, but those shown stealing TV's and sneakers, and more so the rapes murders and firing automatic weapons at rescue helicopters)
