A-Listers unite to do B movie. (spoiler alert)

The turning point of the movie, Mercer's death, was so contrived that it wasn't realistic. Even the smallest "guppy" in a big-time company would know sending mobs of people to look for murderers, or chase down a "friend" on a freeway is not a great idea. You got the Tim Cook's of the world in this movie standing on stage dumb as a rock, not knowing the train wreck they're about to cause. So it's apropos that the dumb and dumber duo of Bailey and Stenton get check-mated on stage by Hermione in the predictable ending.

Along the journey of this movie was some forced chessey cringe worthy conversations. What were these A-Listers thinking?

Agreed, this movie treated the audience like idiots.

Simplified version:
Big Company Man: "We should do this thing that is ridiculously and obviously bad! How liberating!"
People in movie: "Yeah!! Let's do this ridiculously obvious bad thing!"
Herione: "Uh Oh, ridiculously obvious bad thing is bad."
People in movie: "Oh yeah, this is terrible!"
Big Company Man: "Oh, we're fucked."
