Think this is a movie which will be better than the book

They can't really make it worse can they? If all else fails at least the cast will be pleasing on the eyes.

I think that the book was really good, but I have a sense that the film will be much better based on the cast, director, cinematographer and above all the characters and the subject matter.

Agreed. The book didn't do it for me, mostly due to the protagonist's voice. But with the cast and crew they've wrangled I wouldn't be surprised if this joins the Drive and Blade Runner list of brilliant adaptations.

Yeah, I had the same problem with the book, too. At the beginning of the story, the young girl main character seemed like a likeable and sympathetic figure, and when at the ending she turned into someone who was as much of a sheep and follower as everyone else in The Circle, it felt like this eventual outcome for her was contrived and sudden rather than an organic development that built throughout the narrative.

If the film decides to stick with this ending, I hope they do a better job with her character's transition from start to finish.

Change doesn't always make things better...it only assures things will be different.

I read the book as well and hated the main character by the 1/4 mark. Instead of having someone who rebels against the system which is so obviously flawed the main character in this is a sheep and goes along with everything. It makes for a very bad book and this is why most dystopian fiction has a main character who fights the system. Think Winston in Nineteen Eighty-Four or Katniss in The Hunger Games. I can't think of another book or movie like this where the main character is such a total bore.
