Fitzcarraldo

Definitely NOT Apocalypto,
I know good movies about Indigenous of the Amazon:
Emerald Forest
End of the Spear
Birdwatchers.
But none of them can be compared with this one. This one is unique.

Emerald forest was awesome when I watched it as a kid. Im not sure if it has aged well!?

reply

It ages very well, don't worry !

reply

.
SORCERER. Despite the title, it is not a supernatural film, but very compelling.

"Emerald Forest" is the amazonic classic

"Cabeza de vaca" is the most similar but in mexico

"Even the rain" most contempory in bolivia

"Maïna" is 100% indian in the north

"Aluna" has a message from columbian indians

"Little big man" is the classic for the north

"A man called horse" is similar in the north

"Avatar" is the most metaphoric

"The new world" is the first meeting

It's like Dead Man meets Apocalypse Now, with a bit of Aguirre/Fitzcarraldo thrown in.

I haven't seen it yet, but this sounds like something that went through my subconscious. Good comparison from the trailer.

That was my impression exactly.

Haven't watched it yet, but from what I read, I have a strong feeling you just totally nailed it right there!

Awesome, can't wait to see it

reply

Dead Man was the movie I was thinking about while watching this. Both are great.

This is not a signature!

reply

Fitzcarraldo, Aguirre the Wrath of God, Cabeza de Vaca

Try Alamar. It's more of a documentary but beautiful.

Arguing on the net is like running in the Special Olympics. Even if you win you are still retarded.
