Need more Christmas Horror movies..this one..

Christmas Horror movies are few and far between... Good ones anyway. At least in my opinion. (Just my opinion) I got this today from Amazon and watched it with high hopes.

It didn't completely fail me but it didn't completely impress me either.

This is my review of the movie with SPOILERS!!!

The direction they were trying to take the film (to try to get to the plot) took the long way round I think. Most films that do this have so many "what" moments.

This one did that to me. And why? Because it could have been explained a lot different than the way they did it. And you know maybe the writer didn't want to do it in a simple way but rather in a few different off the wall takes. (Which is perfectly fine) but when you do that you risk that "huh" possibly "wtf" moments from your audience.

So with that said, there where too many scenes explaining something that could have been done with just one scene. It could have been explained a lot better to the main story. But the scenes I'm referring too I think that was to get the tits and ass over not to mention the male penis over as well. (Oh yeah lots of almost.. sex in this movie) And by "over" I mean because now days film makers think they have to put those things in films just to get people to watch. When really die hard horror fans just want a good horror movie.

The Santa killer... Was great. The costume and kills were great too. The weapon(s) of choice was something we've seen but the way in which they were used was interesting.

The acting was decent overall. A lot better than I've seen in other films so thumbs up on that. And I have to add the camera work and lighting was great too!

The storyline as a whole was interesting. How they were leading things up to what you find out towards the end.. was fascinating. But if you watch enough movies you might be able to figure it out? Again it has to do with all the little story's they throw in there throughout the movie.

I give this movie a B- high C .. because the storyline wasn't bad and the acting was good overall. And at the end of the day maybe I understand why the writer did what he did with all those little stories in the middle of the movie.. we have to feel sorry for a killer sometimes?
