I would actually like this show if Billy

Given where it ended up, I thought it would have been more interesting if each child had expressed more mannerisms in common with their respective parent. If one wants to look at something in a similar vein, check out "Stay as You Are" which came out in the late 70's.

To me, one of themes if taken to extreme is the desire of a child to marry someone like dear old mom/dad, except in this case, it could be true. I felt the story was too weak on the exact whys of their attraction.

I agree that Billy is a douche, but I feel like Adam Brody makes the character likeable. I'd probably be annoyed by the character a lot more if anyone else was playing him.

But while the character is a douche, I find it refreshing to have a male character that isn't constantly chasing the girl. In most romantic comedies, it's always the pretty girl being chased by the guy. It's always the guy figuratively climbing mountains, swimming across seas and showing up outside the girls house with a boombox to win the girl over. It's refreshing to have a male character that refuses to do any of that stuff, who doesn't let himself be emotionally manipulated and has self-respect.
