New way to end a series

Enjoyed season one and figured something was up with no real Internet chatter about a season two. They started replaying season 1, then began advertising the "documentary." Odd way to end a season and/or fill an hour? The characters did not really add much to the story, and they're inability to figure out what to say (across the board) seemed a little silly.

So do we like or dislike this way of ending a series? Would it have been better to just go without closure?
