I happened to really enjoy this book but I don't think it needs to be made into a film... regardless, who would you cast as
Cormoran
Robin
Lula
Lulas brother?
It's going to be a BBC series not a movie.

I'd cast Sarah Jane Crawford as Lula, because in my mind she looks exactly like that.

There's been speculation elsewhere about Rory McCann (The Hound in Game of Thrones)for Cormoran, and physically he's a good fit. A little old maybe, but younger than many of the other suggested possibilities. Plus in The Silkworm its mentioned that people often think him older than he is. He can certainly do troubled soldier going on his GoT performance.
For Robin I can't shake the idea of Cara Theobold. She's done quite a bit of TV recently - The Syndicate, Downton, Call The Midwife and some BBC Three comedy thing that's on at the moment. She's pretty much spot on Rowling's *ahem* Galbraith's description of Robin and is from Yorkshire too. I'm reading the Silkworm at the minute and ever since she occurred to me I can't imagine anyone else.
Lula I think might be good as a fairly unknown. Cast anyone majorly notable and it might ruin the mega-famous supermodel illusion a bit.
As much as I love Holliday Grainger, you ain't kidding that Cara Theobold would've been perfect for Robin.
shareI may be a bit reaching here, but I always picture Jason Statham as Cormoran when I'm reading the books. I'm not too particular with the other characters, but I suppose Karen Gillan would make an alright Robin.
shareIf Jason Statham played Strike, I would never forget I'm watching Statham play a detective. Tom Burke becomes Strike.

Since I've joined this conversation now that both leads have been revealed, I have to say that I'm satisfied with Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger. They're both quite close to how I imagined Strike and Robin, and I think they will do a good job acting-wise.
As for the other characters, I'm not sure. I imagined Lula as a girl very similar to Naomi Campbell in the 1990s and her boyfriend Evan Duffield as Michael Hutchense. Those are the looks I would go for when it comes to those two characters.
