I need a sword to fill the hole in my heart

True story, lol.

Anyway, this movie was okay. I liked Wolf Children but I agree with others that this seemed a bit all over the place. I feel like there...was an idea trying to be developed about the possible hatred and darkness he had inside of him (from being orphaned) and trying to battle that, needing support and companionship from others to do so...but it was done in a pretty odd way, what with the beasts and giant whale and all. I mean it seemed to suggest that the beasts were less dark than the human, so it wasn't even "taming the beast inside" symbolic kind of route. And okay, I get that the whale, though, was like the Moby Dick example she gave, fighting himself in a way, fighting his own urge to darkness via the other non-boar-boy...but it was still pretty uneven and all over the place to fit together too well. I don't know!

But, it was unique at least.
