His tail?

I had heard from some online reviews when the movie came out in Japan about how at the end of the movie it shows some humanoid figures coming out of his tail. Then I saw the images of them. Has anyone heard of any theories as to what they mean?

Gotta be some baby Godzilla creatures. He was slapping his tail pretty hard at the end and I'm sure he got at least one out.

Seriously freaky! Lots of people at my showing were definitely "What the @#$%?!"

wouldn't say humanoid as much as simply "creatures". probably offspring? and, yes, definitely some "holy shi_t" and "what the f_ck" going on audibly from the audience!! great reactions!!!

I figured godzilla was absorbing life forms it came into contact with which was to explain how it was growing so fast and that those huminoid creatures represented humans that got fused into godzilla as he travled on land.

It was representation of those who died from the nuclear blasts in World War 2. Basically saying Godzilla is built from all the repercussions of the bombs.

😨 Those skeletal growths had fins on them so Gojira was evolving little warriors to combat the humans I'd wager until it got forced hibernated into a comatose state with the coagulate.

That's what I feel too. I knew the ending before I watched the film (because I thought US wouldn't get a release at the time) and I was focused on his tail the whole last part. When Godzilla froze up, his tail was normal. Only the last scene, you see humanoids coming off of them. Obviously Godzilla isn't dead like some people think. But there's definitely some activity going on as Godzilla is frozen. BTW, those humanoids must be pretty large given that Godzilla's tail itself is rather huge.

Geryverymin138 had the interesting idea that perhaps these creatures will evolve into Toho's monster roster - Rodan, King Ghidorah, etc.

I thought about that myself. Kind of a neat idea considering Godzilla was the first one movie wise and then other monsters followed. In this timeline, it would make sense. Only other idea for other Kaiju arrving is other animals eating from the same waste Godzilla did.

I could potentially see Ghidorah as being the result of alien microbes on a meteor merging with Godzilla cells or whatever.

Or perhaps, with all those falling buildings and the tail swishing about, those who fell onto it getting fried trying to get off.

I kinda figured the same but dismissed it cause they were playing the nuclear waste created godzilla rather than bikini atoll.

Thiw ould only make sense, if it was connected to "Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack".
As some people already said, the humanoid bodies are more likely offsprings. Their form is also not too far fetched, since we already saw, that Godzilla changed his body/form throughout the movie.
To be honest: These "things" kinda reminded me of Aliens/Xenomorphs.

Close-ups of his tail show that it has a "face" on it, or is made of bone resembling a skull. I've seen theories postulating that this incarnation of Godzilla could've temporarily existed as a creature that was segmented...think of an earthworm - you cut it in half and both sides still "live" and function.

The tail end could've been Godzilla's vestigial "twin" so to speak. The creatures he seemed to be birthing from his tail at the end seemed pretty scary...it gave off a very Lovecraftian vibe.

That skeletal tail embryo was damn freaky. My first thought was that it was the remains of the scientist who had done the research and went missing - that somehow G was a mutated relation/version of the scientist himself. Come to think of it, they never clearly answered why the scientist's boat was out in the ocean and abandoned...besides the obvious assumption that G ate him of course.
The whole film had a pretty strong bio-horror vibe.

At various points I thought his tail looked like another (Godzilla) head and can even shoot fire just like Godzilla's actual definitive head. Some stills of the movie seem to confirm my view. As for the skeletons at the end they looked like people to me, but my girlfriend saw Godzilla babies. I cannot find any good images of that scene online to review it further.

They also did mention in the film that Godzilla can multiply asexually like a bacteria can divide and multiply, and I think somebody else mention of a worm was pretty spot on.

Those were weird.
