but what people with little experience in doing so, think they can renovate a house that big that also looks that bad and bring it up to government inspection code in 45 days?! With one handyman?? Speaking of Jeff , he obviously had no licenses to do any work which would make any renovations he did illegal when inspectors came out. The couple didn't apply for any permits either or they wouldn't have hired Jeff.

For the licenses it was implied, and if it wasn't, it was a movie, we're supposed to suspend relief. As for the 45 days, it was shown that the person in charge was shocked when Jeff said he thinks he could get it done in 45 days cuz even to her it seemed impossible.
