No miracle at all, just the nature of the illness

I have a similar illness. It's not uncommon for it to go into remission (unaided) and for the paralysis to stop. The bowels CAN start working again on their own with long standing remission but there is of course always a chance of relapse. I am not seeing a miracle here.

It will be interesting to see whether or not she has a relapse in the future especially since she has had several bowel surgeries. Especially if she say, one day decides to have a child - many women with obstructive bowel disease or Crohn's who have been in remission for a long time often experience a relapse or complications during pregnancy.
