It just dawned on me that no doubt Tom Cruise gives millions to Scientology. So therefore if you pay for his movies you are indirectly supporting Scientology. Kinda makes you puke doesn't it?

It would be hard to name a celebrity who isn't involved in some cause that some of us don't like.
Pay to see the work of that celebrity, and you are indirectly supporting the cause.
I really like the 1959 version of Ben Hur. For all I know, when I bought the DVD, some of the proceeds went to the estate of Charlton Heston, and his estate might give money to the NRA. I don't know that is what happened, but it might have. Some people don't like the NRA. Some people do.

Like for instance if an actor I liked was a card carrying Republican I would still go and see his movies even though I lean to the left. Being a Republican doesn't make you a slimeball like Scientology who deliberately scam people for their money. Your example is also a good example although I doubt Heston got any money from Ben-Hur besides his salary for the film. But supporting the NRA which I do not and supporting Scientology is apples and oranges to me. NRA is a legitimate organization that tells you straight up what they are about. Scientology is a scheming organization with nefarious purposes.

i highly doubt that any huge major celeb other then cruise is involved in such a nefarious insidious organization that HURTS and abuses so many and continues to so!
AND THAT PERSON (the celeb like cruise) MAKES THEMSELVES THE PUBLIC FACE OF IT, DECLARES THEY ARE FIRST AND FOREMOST SAID MEMBER/PARTICIPANT, AND WHO HAS PROSTITUTED THEMSELVES FOR IT LIKE CRUISE, HAS BEEN UTTERLY INAPPROPRIATE IMMORALLY IMPROPERLY BUTT KISSED BY SAID ORGANIZATION FOR 30 PLUS YEARS AND YET? FOR all those who know cruise is involved in scientology AND know what that cult is and does and STILL pay money to cruise movies, which increases the box office, which increases or continues his huge salary, a huge salary he gives a portion of to this destructive scam cult to keep it going? and why? because he's handsome, seems like a nice guy, hasn't himself done anything bad to anyone (that we know of and it's called guilt by association and culpability and his silence is deafening) or i just like his movies and whatever lame excuse you want to provide?! SHAME ON YOU!...
Well said, I agree. I will never pay to see one of his films again and he does occaisionally make films I am interested in.
