It's an interesting documentary, but fails on some fundamental levels. For instance, most of the anti-scientology cult testimony is unsupported. I'm not saying it's wrong; just that Gibney failed to provide credible evidence to support the allegations made about the cult. It's a Documentary 101 mistake.
The scientology cult very definitely and obviously is just a cult, but no more or less so than any of the other cults, such as christianity, hinduism, islam, judaism, etc.
