Idiotic behavior during an outbreak

Why are people so stupid. When I look at things like this I consider greater humanity. When did we decide that one person was greater than everyone? This guy is driving around infected refusing to check himself in and has single handedly infected like 20 people who will also infect 20 more by the end of the first half of the movie. Listen if blood comes from any orafice that is bad OK. And if maggots are in something it is because it is dead and the natural process of life is that they develop and stew in the rotting item.
