The writer/director talks about the personal experience of being jumped that led to his fierce debut about a kid who grows up during the course of a night in the Bay Area looking for the person who stole his prized Nikes, as well as the most difficult day of shooting, protecting the Nikes that were used in the film and filming in the neighborhoods he grew up in.
