i got questions!! [spoiler alert!!]

first off with me being a sneakerhead, i can say that i LOVE this movie. i took my 13 yr old son to go see this last night, we both enjoyed this film very much, but a couple of scenes left me kinda puzzled, and i have to drop these quesions to see if anyone else thought of the same things:

1. where was brandon's mom? was she always working or something? not once did we see his mother..i think only a quick picture of her when he went to her room to get those house slippers..come to think of it we never saw any of their parents, lol..maybe that was thrown in there to raise concer about how some kids are left to fend for themselves.

2. how come none of his friends couldnt loan him a pair of one of their kicks until he got his pair kicks back?...lol, i thought that kinda sucked for them to have their friend walkin around in some rosey house slippers.

3. the little kid that flacko had around him..was that his little brother or was that his son?...i think i missed something.

4. the part when brandon's cousin was shot by flacko after the sideshow...did he live?...cause when brandon came back to the house, his uncle was kinda calm talkin to him about his kid being shot..and i know any other parent woulda probably been flippin out..or was he so used to death in the oakland streets that he became numb to it?

5. the aftermath: brandon and flacko beat each other bloody, then he let's him keep the shoes..so what's gonna happen when they see each other again? what's gonna happen to flacko now that his uncle know he shot one of his sons, is he gonna be after flacko for retaliation or will his brother be after him?...and once again WTF IS HIS MOMS?! lol

but overall, i think certain parts were left out to make you wonder/think...but, i loved this movie..

1. You can only speculate. Most of the movie takes place outside his home so it doesn't really matter. There were no hints in the movie to show that his mother was always working and/or never around.

2. True. Nobody had some old busted up basketball shoes lying around, lol?

3. Son.

4. I assume he is alive 'cause Brandon's uncle said he got shot...not killed.

5. The beef between Brandon & Flacko is over...unless one of them looks at each other wrong, lol. Flacko, Brandon's uncle and son? Who knows...the movie ended fam...you make up an ending, lol. I came to the conclusion that his mom is out working all the time.

I'll take a stab at your questions...

#1 We never get to see Brandon's mother and when you think about the parents we do see (his uncle and Flaco) were poor excuses for parents. Maybe the writers wanted to touch on how the break down of family leads to trouble.

#2 Chances are he couldn't fit his friends shoes, he was small for his age and probably why he viewed himself as awkward.

#3 Son I think.

#4 he most likely lived because his father said he got shot instead of killed.

#5 the beef is over because both sides got closure... Brandon finally stood up to his bully and Flako realized that he did exactly what he told his son not to do in regards to letting big people pray on little people. I think he realized it after what he beat the breaks off of Brandon.
