Did this get any better in the 1st season?

I'm in episode 3 and it's just boring so far.

Supernatural is better, though.

No problem with magic, it's the script.

Waaaaaay better. Supernatural is epic. I only have one or two shows that rank higher.

I liked that the characters in The Magicians weren't shiny, polished heroes. They are all self centered little pricks that had to get over themselves to save something bigger than themselves. I liked that they are frequently selfish and learning as they go. It just grabbed my attention.

I understand. I notice that too, especially with the guy who turned his back on his friend, Quentin?. What a douche.

Perhaps I give it a try again with lower expectations. After all, I've seen like two or three eps.

It only got worse after that. My brother and I quit this series after the season finale for Season 1. We couldn't take the crap anymore.

Funny thing is that season 2 is where it starts to get REALLY good and season 3 is even better. I'm just about to start season 4 and I might put this in my top 5 shows.

You HAVE TO just get through season 1. Season 1 really does suck.

Sorry. There's nothing you can say that would convince me to even peek at the later seasons. They gave me no reason to love any of the characters, where the series was going, and the writing was really bad. The few characters I might have liked got killed or were taken out of the picture. And I really did not like all the sex, the politics, the badly-censored F-bombs, or the gratuitous violence. Thanks, but no thanks.
