I remember from last season that Alice was filled with Goat God essence to give her God powers to defeat the Beast.I don't remember why Alice turned psycho? Was that a side effect of her ingesting the Goat God essence?

No,she turned into a niffin(like her brother, there was an episode about that in early season 1), so she wasn't really her anymore, it was just all the magic left of her in her shell, so to speak. It was the consequence of letting too much power through her - Embers bestowal had wore off, but she casted that Rhinemann spell anyways..

She comes back later on the last book. Quentin manages to execute an extremelly difficult spell to reverse entropy. I guess now they are making Julia be the queen of fillory like it is in the books
I hope Alice is still alive some how
