The movie doesn't really start until about an hour in

I started watching it, and was getting bored after about 10 minutes, so skipped to about an hour in, and then found it to be rather great.

Seemed to be far too much needless guff in that first hour to me (I stopped a couple of times)...just basic war stuff, and jealousy building between two blokes.

I guess the bit to start from is when The bad guy and the woman first meet, in chapter 2, which is about an hour in.

Yeah, why care about the relationship between the two main characters

So, you're not interested on plot and character development.

Who needs such things when you have rape and fighting on menu. Only CGI cartoon spectacle would be better.

Definitely didn't kick off and get interesting till we started seeing chapter 2's perspective. I turned it off a few times before we got that far. It also took a while before I even understood what the story was about, who it was about. It's not an easily accessible picture. This thing was never gonna be a hit under any condition, i'm not sure why they even bothered making excuses for its poor performance. Great movie though. I expect it to be highly rewarding on rewatch.

"It took a while before I even understood what the story was about"
That happens when you turn it off multiple times.

reply

It's starts over 3 times. I'm not a huge fan of movies like this. Especially when each point of view is 45 min long.

reply

I politely disagree

That first hour sets up the various relationships... Much of that first part of the movie is the set up for the rest
It's very important to what follows

*I just rewatched it and tonight, I insist that fans of good movies should watch this,
It's a great movie about different Character's viewpoints
