Another adaption of Palo Alto??

After searching on the internet for this movie, I came across this:

I own the Palo Alto book written by James Franco. The narrator of many of the short stories (the book is a short story collection, for anyone who doesn't know)is named Ryan. One of the stories is called 'Killing Animals.' This movie has James Franco in it and produced by Rabbit Bandini. I am just curious as to why they would adapt part of the novel again after we already have last year's Palo Alto (which I thoroughly enjoyed even though I know a lot of people didn't.) Maybe this will include the more violent aspects of the book?
