WHY John believes his birth Father so readily

I realize John treats him kind of roughly --- BUT John also cared for him, sent him to Harvard and the one scene where Beth goes to Jaime and when she comes back John is almost crying asking whether he still has a son, admits that Jaime has been disappointing BUT is still his son

AS AG Jaime could check everything and find out his dad was into the drugs and drug trade and all the bad things, and killed his mother for being hooked on the drugs he gave her

AND I know by the end of #4 the future doesn't look bright for Jaime
