First of all, Harper had NO proof. If that one girl had adamantly denied it, there is no way they would've been found out. It's not like any of the "johns" would've come clean considering they'd be tried for statutory rape. And the newspaper printing what basically amounted to a RUMOR was slanderous and I'm sure would not have happened.
Harper should've been jumped by the entire group and beaten to within an inch of her life. I'm sure that would've taken care of the whole thing.
I was thinking the same thing about how Harper had no proof (unless her uncle secretly took pics? ...but then that might have incriminated him eventually). There were various things like that, that the writers seemed to choose to overlook so they could have certain people punished and reward Harper even though she was a blackmailer, etc. Or, of course, the writers simply didn't think the story through.
Yeah, while I was watching it I looked it up to see if it was based on true events and saw that it was. It seemed like the writers could've made the story more compelling.
He did take pics, including the ones with Ashley and the older woman. If he was smart, he probably would've torched all the evidence after the media blitz.
Harper's uncle interacted with Ashley while Harper was around and Harper knows about his activity and I think she has ways to get proof, such as a cash withdraw...
I guess if people were smart, there would be 50% less films.
