Rewarding her like a dog?

What's her name? Selah. Get one right and you get fed a treat just like a puppy? Ugh. That bugged the heck out of me.

Plus that girl shouldn't be eating candy, she needs to be on a diet. bad parenting...

That was horrifying. They are filling that poor child up with extremely sugary foods, giving her Diet Cokes for "energy," etc. She's on the road to Type 2 diabetes, and they seem completely ignorant about the most basic elements of nutrition for a growing child (or anyone, for that matter). Just awful!

That was disgusting. That poor kid - I want to like her family but come on!! I guess that's an example of having book smarts but no common sense. You don't have to be 'smart' to have basic nutrition skills. Made me sad.

Honestly, they are creating an obese, sugar-filled person who could end up having a lot of health problems in -- and even before -- adulthood. And they are "bragging" about that on TV? Even if they are "playing it up" for the cameras, the girl is obviously very overweight for such a young child, and it truly seems to be their "fault."

Still better than the indoctrination that Graham's family was force feeding him.

I'd rather be force-fed candy than the Bible.

Rewards are a common way to reinforce behavior. Of course, it would be preferable to teach a child that knowledge is its own reward.

But what really bothered me was that they were reinforcing the idea that candy (poor food choices) should be viewed as a reward. This could negatively affect behavior for years.

They are pretty much creating a type 2 diabetes case. Disgusting.
