shareA person with an IQ of 140 or higher is considered a genius. Some of these kids are in that range and some are members of Mensa. It's not fair or accurate to make judgments that none of these kids are geniuses. We are seeing a very small side of their intellect. We are not seeing how they express themselves outside of a quiz fomat. We have not read anything that they have written to see how clearly they are able to articulate their ideas. We have not seen them do real life problem solving. Adrian is clearly a genius. He has skipped several grades and at age 10 will be attending college.

These kids are relatively bright, sure. But real genius is exceedingly rare -- someone with true genius typically changes the landscape and the conversation, thinks outside the box and creates in a different way than an average or even a very bright person. Geniuses don't just score well on standardized tests and get good grades in school. Most of us haven't met anyone who is a true genius, and I guarantee most of the kids on this show are not geniuses in the real sense of the word.
I think a lot of Adrian's accomplishments are directly attributable to his mother and how he grew up. He's smart, but he's also pushed incredibly hard. We'll see what happens to him as he grows and matures.
None of the children were geniuses last season either, with the possible exception of Tanishq.
And none of the children next season will be actual true geniuses either.
That's just the nature of this show.
You don't think a concerto playing 10 year old finishing High School is a genius? Geez.
